Yes — completely. The PVDent cleaner uses cool water with ultrasonic cavitation and UV-C light only. No heat, no peroxide, no abrasive chemicals that warp or degrade thermoplastic. It’s compatible with every major aligner brand, as well as Essix and Hawley retainers, ortho retainers post-debond, mouthguards, dentures, partials, and most jewellery.
Tablets create surface foaming that loosens visible debris, but they can’t penetrate the micro-pores in aligner plastic where bacterial biofilm actually colonises — and the residual peroxide can yellow trays over time. Ultrasonic cavitation reaches inside those micro-pores. UV-C kills the bacteria the tablets miss. It’s a complete clean, not a cosmetic one — and it costs ~5 cents per cycle in tap water vs $1+ per dissolved tablet.
